Forum on AI Use at the U

On May 28, University of Utah officials hosted a virtual forum to discuss best practices for the use of artificial intelligence in an academic setting. The forum covered AI guidelines, responsible use of AI in research and teaching activities, and AI platforms available for use across the institution.

  8. Q&A

University IT last year launched this website, ai.utah.edu, to explain guidelines and policies around the use of chatbots and other AI tools on campus. The site provides information on the tools available and what you should know when working with them. It will be continually revised as guidelines are developed and will incorporate user feedback from weekly office hours and the contact form. Insights from this week’s forum will soon be incorporated into the FAQ page.

Additionally a virtual monthly meeting, called AI Community of Practice, will feature short presentations from U researchers using AI. These presentations are hoped to be turned into ai.utah.edu blog posts to share what people are doing with AI across campus.

Do you have a question not covered by the forum or answered elsewhere on ai.utah.edu? Submit it via the contact form.
